DANGERS OF ALUMINUM POISONING
Looking at how aluminum is in almost everything around us, how do we prevent it from harming us? This is why detoxification is so important. Aluminum Linked to Brain-related Diseases Studies have shown that people with Alzheimer's Disease (AD) have high level of aluminum accumulated in their brains compared to a person who doesn't have the disease. It seems that there is a relationship between aluminum and AD. Aluminum is one of the most toxic mineral to the human body. It damages our nervous systems and seems to attack our brain. It has been linked to anemia, memory deficits, memory loss, headaches, irritability, insomnia, learning disability, dementia, mental confusion; and more severely, Alzheimers, Lou Gehrig's and Parkinson's diseases. Whether or not aluminum is the cause of these diseases is immaterial. We want to avoid/prevent it from entering into our system. Let's investigate how aluminum gets into our system. Be informed and make wise decision concerning your health. Aluminum in Foods and Drinks -
Aluminum contamination from pots and pans. Many people still use aluminum pots and pans for cooking as they are cheap, lightweight, and a good conductor of heat. Aluminum foils are also used to wrap foods for grilling for the same reason. However, foods kept in aluminum utensils for some time will tend to absorb the aluminum in dust and vapor form. Acidic and salty foods leach more aluminum than other foods. When we ingest this contaminated foods, over time, it accumulates in our body and wreaks havoc to the system. -
Aluminum cans. Even though aluminum cans are coated with polymer to prevent the aluminum from leaching into the food or drink, when dented or cracked, the polymer can break and release aluminum into the food and drink. -
Soy foods. Due to the extreme chemical composition of soy beans, they are highly processed in order to remove these substances. In commercially prepared soy foods, the soy beans are bathe in an acid bath in large aluminum tanks. The acidity and duration these beans are in contact with the tanks, cause the aluminum to be leached into the soy beans that are used to make tofu and other soy foods. -
Table salt (not sea salt) may contain aluminum acetate that is used as a drying agent to prevent caking. Sea salt which is generally unprocessed has its moisture so you know that this substance is absent. -
Prescribed drugs. Some medications contain very high level of aluminum. Is it any wonder why patients have to keep going back to the doctor/hospital to keep the healthcare industry booming? You'll be shocked that some of these medications may contain aluminum (hydroxide): First in line is antacid which is used to treat stomach acidity problem like heartburn, sour stomach, acid indigestion and stomach ulcers. Other medications that may contain some aluminum: Buffered aspirin (used as an analgesic to relief inflammation), low-quality supplements (especially in calcium supplement), anti-diarrhea and anti-ulcer medications. -
Drinking water. Aluminum hydroxide and aluminum sulfate are used in purification of drinking water. If you drink the water directly out of the tap, chances are the water might be contaminated with aluminum. By drinking distilled water, you can be sure to eliminate this substance and other harmful substance in your drinking water. -
Food additives. Aluminum ammonium sulfate is used as a leavening agent in some food ingredients and processed foods especially in bakeries. Examples are in cake mixes, baking powders, dough, corn tortillas, frozen bread, frozen waffles, frozen pancakes, flour and sugar products. Other foods that may have this toxic ingredient: processed sliced cheese, ground coffee beans, chewing gums. -
Fish. Aluminum is one of the most abundant element in our earth soil. Acid rain can leach aluminum from soil and rocks that flow into the river and into the sea. Hair analysis done on fishermen has reported very high levels of aluminum and mercury because of their high fish consumption. Aluminum in Personal Care Products -
Anti-perspirant roll-on. Anti-perspirants contain an active ingredient, aluminum chlorohydrate that reacts with proteins in the sweat to form a gel that blocks the glands from producing more sweat, thus reducing the perspiration. When underarm sweat is blocked and not allowed to be excreted, it gathers in the area and become toxic. This may lead to breast problems, breast cancer or other brain disorders. -
A large number of personal care products like shampoos, douches, skin care products, and cake powders contain aluminum in various forms. It's alarming, but that's a fact. Always go for organic if you can afford it. Learn to Read Labels Learn to read labels when buying your personal care products. Look at the ingredients, for words like "alum", "aluminum", "alumino", "aluminate", "maltol" or "baking powder". If you have gone around to look at labels like I have done, you will find that it is really difficult for us to avoid aluminum poisoning or any other metal poisoning from the things around us in this modern world. We try to avoid them as much as possible if we know they are harmful, but sometimes, we really cannot prevent these poisoning. Because of this, we must learn how to detox our system regularly in order to prevent these contamination from causing us untold health problems. Do you care enough about your health?
