THE UNKNOWN DANGERS
OF SOY PRODUCTS

Soy products have always been
promoted as miracle food
to the unsuspecting consumers.

But is it really?

Alternative To Cow's Milk? Think Again

We have heard much and now know that cow's milk is harmful.  Now, do we use soy milk as a substitute?  Recent studies have exposed the dangers of soy milk and it could be even more harmful for your child than cow’s milk formula!  But this still doesn't mean cow's milk is better!  We're in a dilemma, aren't we?

Soy milk is widely being promoted as a “miracle food” with anti-cancer properties. It might be safe and healthful if taken in small amounts for adults, but it is a slow poison for infants who are totally dependent on soy milk for their food. Soy products in the fermented form, like in miso soup and tempeh, do not cause a toxic problem as the phytic acid gets neutralized in the fermentation process.

The Extreme Chemical Composition Of Soy Milk

The highly concentrated minerals and little water content in soy bean makes it very acidic for the human digestive system. The extreme chemical composition, plus the excessive heat in processing, renders the soy milk formula to be toxic for our children.

To give you a better understanding, let’s look at the brief comparison between a mother’s breast milk and soy milk:

Protein: 1.5% in human milk but 33% in soy milk

Carbohydrates: 6% in human milk but 33% in soy milk

Fat: 5% in human milk but 17% in human milk

Sulphur: 400% more in soy milk compared to human milk!

Manganese: 3-10 µg in human milk but 200-300 µg in soy milk. Newborns exposed to such high levels of manganese are vulnerable to brain development associated with learning disabilities, attention deficit and other behavioral problems with violent tendencies.

The unbalanced proportion of these elements in soy milk has been found to disturb the activity of the blood serum which is largely composed of sodium and chlorine. This unbalanced situation indirectly causes
mental problems, neurasthenia, abnormal sex propensities, digestive problems, thyroid dysfunction, cognitive decline, reproductive disorders, immune system breakdown, nervous system disturbances, heart disease and even cancer.

Research has also found that soy milk formula causes growth problems in infants due to the presence of protease inhibitors that block the actions of the enzymes necessary for normal digestion of protein.

Harmful Substances In Soy

The key ingredient in infant’s soy milk formula is
soy protein isolate (SPI). SPI is the product of high-tech industrial processing involving high temperatures, pressure, solvent extraction and alkaline solutions. This process compromises the vitamins and minerals quality and creates a toxic and carcinogenic environment. An infant fed on soy milk, consumes up to about 27 grams of SPI per day. This alarming level is about 80 times the permitted amount allowed for an adult!

Like all beans, soy beans also contain an
anti-nutrient called “phytates” or “phytic acid” but at a much higher level than any other legume. This compound binds minerals such as calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron and copper, blocking the body’s assimilation of these necessary minerals. Malabsorption causes deficiency that creates a host of other health problems.

Another harmful substance is
hemagglutinin that causes the red blood cells to clump together. This substance is also present in other leguminous plants like jack beans, castor beans, lima beans and kidney beans, but in safer amounts. Clustered blood cells prevent circulation of oxygen and may cause some problems to the heart.

Here’s a study on hemagglutinin on some leguminous plants.

Extremely High Level Of Female Hormones

Organic isoflavones produced in the bean family, act as phytoestrogens (mimicking the female hormones) and possess anti-cancer values. However, the significant amount in soy bean accelerates the onset of puberty in children, creating havoc in the child’s endocrine development, and disrupting the nervous and immune systems. The level of isoflavones contained in soy milk formula could amount to the equivalent of approximately 5 birth control pills a day!! Imagine the damage that could be done by daily consumption!

Jim Rutz in his full report on soy milk exposed that the overwhelming content of estrogen knocks off the hormonal balance in infants and may “feminize” young boys. It may cause boys to grow small breasts and stunt the growth of their penises. The amount of estrogens may also affect the development of their brains, contributing to altered sexual behavior and preference.

The increased estrogen in the body can create an estrogen dominance which leads to weight gain.

Very High Level of Uric Acid Content

The uric acid content in soybean milk is so high that drinking it frequently might also cause some serious inflammatory problems. Some years ago, I mistakenly thought that soybean milk was “healthy” and started taking a glass every day. Within one month, I started to feel my toes tingling – a sign of early gout. This is how harmful soy can be.

Alternatives

Nothing can rival a mother’s milk. Mother’s milk is a complete food that contains the right amount of carbohydrate, protein, fat, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, hormones, etc. that are necessary for the normal growth of a baby.

If mother’s milk is not available, go for fresh goat’s milk or home-made organic almond milk. Carrot or other vegetable juices can also be very nourishing and sufficient to supply the necessary nutrients to build strong and healthy children.
