Prevention Is Better Than Cure

We have heard it a thousand times but we hardly take heed until we are hit with a disease.  Even though chronic diseases can be reversed, why take the chance?  At times, detoxification may be a lengthy process and in the interim, you suffer uncertainty and pain from the disease itself.

It is easier to start now and prevent the build-up of toxins rather than to suffer a disease with all its symptoms.  Prevention simply involves creating a cleaner environment around you and in you.  Be aware of what harms your body and what heals.  Avoid those that harm and consume more of those that heal.

Even if you already have contracted a certain chronic disease, some of these prevention methods are the same as the detox methods.  So, by just taking these prevention/detox measures, you are already helping your body to eliminate toxins and you might already find some degree of relief.

 

Health Robbers

Look around your home and you will see that we are living in a very toxic environment.  Almost everything we come into contact with could be a health robber.  We need to recognize them and make conscious efforts to avoid them or look for safer alternatives. 

The following are just some health robbers that I can think of.  As you get wiser with your environment, you can add on to the list.  Learn to avoid them as much as possible. 

Detoxification of toxins from your body BEGINS when you STOP your exposure to these harmful substances:

  • Food:  Additives, preservatives, artificial flavorings and colorings, food stabilizers, food emulsifiers, agricultural chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, etc.

  • Air:  Stale and stagnant air, perfumes, tobacco smoke, cleaning supplies, toxic fumes, polluted air, dust mites, pollens, household sprays, etc.

  • Water:  Water contaminated with inorganic minerals, bacteria, chlorine, heavy metals, rusts, chemicals, industrial pollution, etc.

  • Medical treatments:  Prescription drugs, chemotherapy, anti-biotics, artificial hormones, vaccinations, jabs, low quality supplements, etc.

  • Dental treatments:  Mercury amalgam fillings, root canals, acrylic dentures, implants, braces, fluoride treatments, etc.

  • Radiation:  Radiotherapy, radio waves, television waves, microwave ovens, some electromagnetic gadgets, cell phones, x-rays, gamma rays, ultra-sound scan, MRI scan, CAT scan, UV radiation, etc.

  • Household:  New paints, varnishes, new carpets, new asbestos ceiling, heating system, cleaning agents, all kinds of sprays, moth balls, gas stoves, aluminum pots, laundry supplies, etc.

  • Personal care:  Perfumes, soaps, shampoos, deodorants, toothpaste, nail polish, cosmetics (some contain lead), permanent and hair colorings, etc.

On this site, I will not cover all the things around us that are toxic, but I will give you the basic idea so that you understand what are the things that could have caused you to be sick.

 

Harmful Foods

Toxins in food is a very wide topic and it may deserve a whole section by its own.    How the food is being prepared and cooked can also cause foods to be inorganic or toxic for our bodies.  Some examples are:

Some of our choices of foods may even have been thought to be "healthy" but are in fact harmful to our bodies.  You will be surprised that these could be the main contributors to the deterioration of our health.
