Faulty Diet and Lifestyle Before we look at the perfect diet, let us look around us. Look at the faulty diet that is prevalent everywhere we go. Just walk into a supermarket and you see rows and rows of "foods" that line the shelves that are packaged, canned and bottled in the most attractive packaging. These foods are made to last on the shelves, but they don't make YOU last. They are created because of the demand for "convenience" as people are getting more and more busy and lazy in preparing fresh foods. From an unhealthy lifestyle and from eating these faulty diet, people fall sick and they go to the doctor hoping to be prescribed some kind of pills that will make them well again. Not understanding that these drugs only help temporary relief by suppressing symptoms and causing other side effects that resurface later in life. Because of these convenient foods, people don't have to till the ground as our ancestors used to do, therefore, there is a "lazy" lifestyle that requires very little physical labor (insufficient exercise). Man-made chemicals and harmful ways of preparing foods are everywhere around us, we can hardly avoid them. We need to recognize them to consciously begin to eliminate them from our lives, little by little. See the list of things around us that rob us of our health. Myth of the "Balanced Diet" From young, we were taught to eat a "balanced diet", an egg, a vegetable, a meat, etc, a food from each food group. But as man begin to understand more and more about proper nutrition, these kinds of "balanced diet" are far from ideal. They don't provide you all the nutrients you need, causing you to be more and more nutrition-deficient as years go by. Our body is a very complex "machine" and requires over fifty identified essential nutrients to keep us in optimal health. Just by eating a "balanced diet" but not meeting all these essential nutrients is asking for trouble. But, if we can eat as much of these nutrients daily, we can even start to reverse our degenerating health. So, don't believe it if you are being sold a "miracle drink" or "miracle tablet" that promises to heal your disease. Our bodies need all the essential nutrients to be healthy and stay healthy. This site will help you to gradually change your eating habits as you begin to learn to replace the harmful things in your life with healing foods and habits. Eating all these nutrients need not be difficult if you know how. Many diseases are caused not only by nutrition-deficiency, but also by excessive anti-nutrients that get into our body and stay in our body as toxins. Imagine our body as a glass of pure water: each day, just drop one grain of sand into it. Over the years, these grains of sand (like toxins in our body) accumulate and choke our cells, causing diseases and eventually, premature death. There is no secret formula. There is no one perfect diet that suits all. However, as a general guide, your perfect diet should be one that gradually: -
Helps reduce/eliminate the pain or disease that you are suffering from -
Helps promote your physical performance, mental performance, and emotional balance -
Helps reduce incidences of ill-health and promote vitality These all CAN be achieved. You just have to understand what you're doing and be determined to get well. The higher the degree of your suffering, the higher will be the degree of your determination. I know, because I've been there. Yes, you CAN restore your health and live a full life again. I will talk about how you can achieve each of the following, by eliminating the health robbers that you may not be aware of, making some changes in your lifestyle, improving your eating habits and your choices of foods/supplements.
